My name is DeVina I am 25 years old. On may 15th, 2008, my husband Luke Scarmazzo was sentenced to 21 1/2 years in prison for operating a LEGAL State approved Medical Marijuana Dispensary. We have a 6 year old daughter and it has been the toughest for her. The injustice of this case is beyond contemplation for many people. My husband PAID all STATE and FEDERAL TAXES, he had receipts for all purchases, and Coorperate attorneys help set up his business. They charged my husband with running a CONTINUING CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE( CCE) which holds a mandatory minimum of 20 years to life. The charge that they gave him was supposed to be used for Drug King Pins, and the Mofia. We are still fighting these Marijuana Laws, and to give my husband 21 years in prison, is completely WRONG. This horrible injustice has split apart our family, and has completely shattered my daughters emotions. How do you tell her he won't e home until she's 27 years old? She deserves to have her father in her life, he is an amazing father, and she needs that. The anger that I have towards our justice system is more than anyone knows. How to deal with this? He will be sent to a federal prison hopefully soon, so that we will be able to have a physical visit with him, so he can hug our daughter and regain a little bit of what he has lost. She needs that with him so bad right now. She has started to blame him for his incarceration, thinking that he wants to be away. We don't get to see him very often, he is in Fresno County jail right now, and we live in southern Cali. Hopefully when he is transfered he will be closer to us, and not out of the state. She hasn't seen him in almost two months, and phone calls are not regular. Dealing with her emotions day and night, is the most difficult thing to deal with. I am all she has right now, so my dedication to her is priority along with school.

This is our story

Looks like his "f$&& the Feds" statement that he made when he was making $13,000 a week is F%#$%ing up your daughter now that we are paying to incarcerate his ignorant behind. Not a hater, just confused as to why the two of you behave the way you do and do not think that our children - all of OUR children suffer by OUR bad choices. Right on Ms. Lucas for what you try to do - to bad the forum allows losers to promote themselves (again) over the children affected by sorry decisions made by unfit parents.
